Last week I shared my top five happy hour hot spots in Green Valley. This week we move to the Southwest Las Vegas Valley. My top 5 spots are picked based on selection, atmosphere, and price.

Here are my top five in the Southwest:
5. Sean Patrick's Pub & Grill
Sean Patrick's Pub & Grill is located in Southern Highlands near one of Las Vegas' most prestigious golf courses, Southern Highlands. The pub has several food items available ranging from $6.00-$8.00. The 1/2 pound burger is the signature happy hour dish. It comes with a huge pile of fries. There is also a select group of beers, wines, and cocktails 1/2 off. Here is an insider tip Sean Patrick's doesn't advertise. All Pizzas are 1/2 price during happy hour. Be in the know like Secret Eats host Adam Richman, and have access to unadvertised menu items. The pub also has happy hour during breakfast. All breakfasts are 1/2 off from 6 to 10 daily. The afternoon happy hour is available from 5 to 7 daily.
4. Spaghetty Western
Spaghetty Western is almost a neighbor of Sean Patrick's. Italian classics are prepared here. During happy hour all appetizers are 1/2 off at the bar. One of the most popular dishes is the Calabrese calamari for $8.50. Fresh calamari with cherry peppers, garlic, and tomatoes. When was the last time you paid $6.50 for a pile of steamed clams? Have them in a spicy red broth or white wine and lemon butter. Also, try the toasted ravioli for $4.00. They come with a house made marinara for dipping. These classics are available from 4 to 7 Monday-Friday and 4 to 6 Saturday and Sunday.
3. Distill a Local Bar in Southern Highlands
Distill has two other locations, one in Summerlin, and the other at Centennial North Las Vegas. Distill has a great variety of food items as well as a great bar atmosphere. The crispy battered artichokes are very popular at $4.00. The filet Mignon sliders are a great replication of this classic beef dish. For $8.00 two sliders are topped with blue cheese, caramelized onions, and Parmesan horseradish sauce. Distill also has dessert happy hour specials. The chocolate brownie sundae starts with a rich homemade chocolate brownie. They top it with vanilla ice cream and both chocolate and caramel sauce. Good sized at a low price for $5.95. Beers and well cocktails are $3.00. Wines are available for $5.00. Happy hours are from 3-7 p.m. daily and 3-7 a.m. daily for the "late nighters."
2. DW Bistro
This gem is located at The Gramercy on Russell Road. Here you will find a unique combination of Jamaican and New Mexican inspirations. Dine at the bar, lounge, or patio for happy hour. There are several small bites available from the regular menu. Prices range from $3.00 to $8.00. The fish and chips are deep fried in a Red Stripe beer batter. Once you try a Red Stripe your a true Jamerican. They come with a nice stack of sweet potato fries. The Hatch green chili mac & cheese is a great New Mexico inspired dish. Spicy and rich, it is topped with jalapeño bacon and Hatch chilies. The pepper that made New Mexico famous in the food world. Try this for $5.00. Happy hour is from 3 to 8 Tuesday-Friday.
1. Andre's Bar & Bistro
For big classic French flavors at small prices, travel on South Fort Apache Boulevard. The lamb burger is one of the best in Las Vegas. It comes with lettuce, tomato, roasted peppers and a creamy tzatziki sauce. A side of duck fat fries accompanies the lamb burger. This decadent burger is $7.00 during happy hour. If you are a chocoholic like me, try the chocolate Pot de Creme for $4.00. The chocolate custard is oven baked and served warm. It is topped with Chantilly cream and a homemade vanilla cookie. There are several other French classics available. All served daily from 3 to 6 p.m. Bon appetite!
Hope you enjoyed Happy Hour Hot Spots: Southwest. Check them out and let me know what you think. Next week I'll be posting on Summerlin. Until then ... happy eating, happy travels, and happy hours.
